Dot Network is an independent project built on Arc and powered by the ARKNET Engine, a networking protocol that transforms one million permanent on-chain locations into programmable Nodes. Every Node can become a digital identity, a project, a business or a payment endpoint, creating a shared layer where people and applications can be discovered, connected and interacted with across the ecosystem.
The project was inspired by Jeremy Allaire, Co-Founder and CEO of Circle, who described the moment Bitcoin finally made sense to him as when "all of a sudden, like, a million dots connect." That idea became the foundation for Dot Network: if blockchain is built on connections, then those connections should be visible, discoverable and owned by the people creating them.
Anyone can claim a Node for free, permanently securing a place within the network. As more participants join, individual Nodes evolve into connected districts, projects become ecosystems and the network itself becomes increasingly valuable through the people and businesses building on it.
Jeremy Allaire is a serial entrepreneur. He founded Allaire Corporation, helped shape the Macromedia era, created Brightcove, and is CEO and co-founder of Circle. His work spans decades of internet innovation and, more recently, open internet money infrastructure.
After researching the 2008 financial crisis and monetary systems, Jeremy became fascinated by Bitcoin and blockchain. He has said discovering Bitcoin helped him connect the dots between decades of internet innovation and the future of money. Circle was founded in 2013 with Sean Neville to build that infrastructure. USDC followed in 2018. Arc extends that vision with USDC as native gas.
Dot Network is built around one primary source: a Boston Globe profile of Jeremy Allaire from December 2022. In that interview, he recalls the moment Bitcoin clicked for him: when "all of a sudden, like, a million dots connect." That line is the lore and narrative inspiration for this project.
The ARKNET Engine is our original visualization networking protocol of that idea: a living, interactive network of millions of interconnected Nodes that represents participation, connection, and growth across the network.
